Active Vehicle Barrier Installation

Active Vehicle Barrier Installation

Fortified Electrical Infrastructure for Fort Sill, OK Military Base

Project Overview

Precision & Protection at a Strategic Entry Point

J2 Company was selected as the design-build electrical partner for a high-security access control upgrade at Fort Sill’s Apache Gate. Working under USACE, our team delivered a full-scope electrical installation of four certified K12/M50-P1 rated denial open frame wedge barriers, integrating power infrastructure, control systems, safety components, and low-voltage technology to secure Military Access Control Points.

The project required seamless coordination of design, construction, and system integration. J2 provided engineering support, load calculations, and electrical schematics to guide the electrical system design and installation. From conduit and wiring to barrier programming and alarms, every element was executed in strict accordance with USACE and military standards.

Scope of Work

Barrier Infrastructure & Foundation

  • Excavation for wedge barrier foundations
  • Installation of rebar and concrete for barrier bases
  • Placement of concrete from foundation through finished roadway
  • Concrete pads for Electronic Power Units (EPUs)

Electrical & System Integration

  • Conduit, wiring, and electrical connections from each barrier to its EPU
  • Power distribution to entire AVB system
  • Installation of lighting, signage, poles, signals, and audible alarms
  • Low-voltage wiring and fiber optics for full control system connectivity
  • Drainage installation to support long-term system performance

Controls & Technology
